Description
Tinto de Verano is a refreshing Spanish summer drink combining red wine with lemonade and slices of citrus fruits, served chilled over ice. This simple and vibrant beverage is perfect for warm weather gatherings and offers a light, fruity twist on traditional wine.
Ingredients
Drink Ingredients
- 1 bottle of red wine (750 ml)
- 1 cup of lemonade (about 240 ml)
- 1 navel orange, sliced into rounds
- 1 blood orange, sliced into rounds
- 1 lemon, sliced into rounds
- Ice cubes
- Optional garnish: fresh rosemary sprigs or other herbs, sliced citrus
Instructions
- Add Red Wine: Pour the entire bottle of red wine into a large pitcher to serve as the base of the drink.
- Add Lemonade: Pour the cup of lemonade into the pitcher with the wine, blending the flavors together gently.
- Add Citrus Slices: Add the sliced navel orange, blood orange, and lemon into the pitcher. Stir the mixture carefully to combine the flavors without bruising the fruit.
- Chill: Add ice cubes directly into the pitcher to cool the drink thoroughly. Stir again to distribute the chill evenly.
- Serve: Pour the chilled Tinto de Verano into individual glasses filled with ice cubes for an extra refreshing touch.
- Garnish: Optionally, garnish each glass with sprigs of fresh rosemary or additional citrus slices for aroma and visual appeal.
Notes
- Use a dry or semi-dry red wine for a balanced flavor.
- The blood orange is optional but adds a lovely color and subtle flavor variation.
- Fresh rosemary adds a fragrant herbal note but can be omitted if preferred.
- Adjust lemonade quantity to taste if a sweeter or more tart flavor is desired.
- This drink is best served immediately over ice but can be prepared a few hours ahead and refrigerated.
