Description

These Thin Mint Shots are a delightful, no-cook cocktail recipe that combines the rich flavor of chocolate liqueur with cool peppermint schnapps, finished with a fun crunchy rim of crushed mint Oreos coated in chocolate frosting. Perfect for parties or a festive treat, these shots are quick to prepare and delicious to savor.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Rim

  • 1 package of Fudge covered Oreo mint mini’s (about 14 mini Oreos)
  • 1 can of chocolate frosting

For the Cocktail

  • 4 parts chocolate liqueur
  • 2 parts peppermint schnapps

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oreo Crust: Begin by crushing 14 mini Fudge covered Oreo mint minis with the back of a spoon or any kitchen tool in a dish. Set aside the crushed Oreos for the rim coating.
  2. Coat the Glass Rim: Open the can of chocolate frosting. Using a small spoon or knife, coat the tops of your shot glasses evenly with the frosting. Immediately roll the frosted rim into the crushed mint Oreos so they stick, creating a flavorful and decorative crust.
  3. Mix the Shot: In a cocktail shaker or a pitcher, combine 4 parts chocolate liqueur and 2 parts peppermint schnapps. Stir gently to blend the flavors together without diluting the mixture.
  4. Serve: Pour the mixed cocktail into the prepared shot glasses. Serve immediately and enjoy your Thin Mint Shots!

Notes

  • This recipe yields 8 shots but can be scaled easily by adjusting ingredient quantities.
  • For best flavor, chill the liqueurs beforehand.
  • Use fudge-covered mint Oreos for authentic Thin Mint flavor; regular Oreos can be substituted but will alter the taste.
  • The chocolate frosting acts as an adhesive for the Oreo rim; alternatively, you could use light corn syrup or melted chocolate.
  • Consume responsibly; this is an alcoholic beverage.
