Description

This Steak & Shrimp Stir-Fried Noodles recipe combines tender sirloin steak and succulent shrimp with crisp vegetables and flavorful egg noodles in a savory garlic-ginger sauce. Ready in just 30 minutes, this colorful dish offers a balanced mix of protein, veggies, and delicious Asian-inspired flavors for a quick and satisfying weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Protein

  • 1 lb sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

Noodles

  • 8 oz egg noodles

Vegetables

  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced
  • 1 cup snap peas
  • 1 cup carrots, julienned
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, minced

Sauces & Liquids

  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Slice the sirloin steak thinly, peel and devein the shrimp, slice the bell peppers, snap peas, and julienne the carrots. Mince the garlic and ginger finely to bring out their flavors.
  2. Cook Noodles: Boil a pot of water and add the egg noodles. Cook until al dente, about 4-5 minutes, then drain and set aside to prevent overcooking while stir-frying other ingredients.
  3. Cook Steak: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a bit of oil if needed. Add the thinly sliced steak and sauté for about 3 minutes or until nicely browned. Remove the steak from the skillet to avoid overcooking during subsequent steps.
  4. Cook Shrimp and Aromatics: In the same skillet, add shrimp along with the minced garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for about 2 minutes or until the shrimp turns pink and aromatic.
  5. Stir-Fry Vegetables: Add the sliced bell peppers, snap peas, and julienned carrots into the skillet. Stir-fry for approximately 3 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp to retain their vibrant texture.
  6. Combine All Ingredients: Return the cooked steak to the skillet and add the cooked egg noodles and chicken broth. Toss everything together and stir-fry for another 2 minutes to meld the flavors and heat through evenly.
  7. Finish with Sesame Oil: Drizzle the sesame oil over the stir-fried noodles and give it a final toss to incorporate the nutty aroma before serving immediately for best taste.

Notes

  • Use low-sodium soy sauce and chicken broth to control salt levels.
  • Egg noodles can be substituted with rice noodles or lo mein noodles as preferred.
  • Do not overcook the shrimp or steak to keep them tender and juicy.
  • Vegetables can be swapped or added based on seasonal availability, such as broccoli or mushrooms.
  • Serve immediately for best texture; leftovers can be refrigerated and gently reheated.
