Description

These Spiderweb Pizzas are a fun and spooky twist on traditional pizza, perfect for Halloween or any time you want to add a bit of whimsy to your meal. With a simple design that mimics a spiderweb and cute olive spiders, these mini pizzas are sure to delight both kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale

Pizza:

  • 4 mini pizza crusts (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Decorations:

  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives (for “spiders”)
  • 4 sticks string cheese (cut into thin strips or peeled)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Prepare crusts: Place mini pizza crusts on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over each crust, leaving a small border. Sprinkle a light layer of shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  3. Create spiderweb: Lay thin strips of string cheese in a crisscross pattern like spokes of a wheel, then connect them with curved cheese strips to form a web pattern.
  4. Add spiders: Slice black olives in half to create spider bodies, and use smaller pieces for legs. Place one or two olive spiders on each pizza. Brush the crust edges lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with Italian seasoning if using.
  5. Bake: Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Get kids involved by letting them design their own webs and spiders.
  • For a gluten-free option, use cauliflower or gluten-free mini crusts.
  • You can also use a piping bag with ricotta or cream cheese to draw more detailed webs after baking.
