Description

Delightful and festive Snowman Truffles made from crushed gingerbread cookies mixed with cream cheese, dipped in white almond bark, and decorated to look like charming snowmen perfect for holiday celebrations or winter treats.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Base

  • 1 8 oz. package cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 12 oz. package gingersnaps or gingerbread cookies

Coating and Decorations

  • 1 pound white almond bark
  • Orange gum drops (for carrot noses)
  • Twizzler pulls and peels (for scarves)
  • Mini Reese’s Cups (for hats)
  • Mini Oreos (for snowmen heads)
  • Black frosting (for eyes and details)

Instructions

  1. Crush the Cookies: Crush your gingersnaps or gingerbread cookies into a fine crumb using a food processor to ensure even texture for the truffle base.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cookie crumbs with softened cream cheese.
  3. Mix: Use an electric mixer to thoroughly combine the cookie crumbs and cream cheese until uniform.
  4. Scoop and Roll: Using a 1 ½ tablespoon cookie scoop, portion the mixture and roll each portion into a smooth ball. Place the balls on a parchment-lined tray.
  5. Chill the Truffles: Refrigerate or freeze the truffle balls to firm up, which makes them easier to dip.
  6. Melt White Almond Bark: Melt the white almond bark in 30-second intervals in the microwave, stirring between intervals until smooth.
  7. Prepare White Chocolate Puddles: Spoon small puddles of melted almond bark onto parchment paper to later hold each dipped truffle in place.
  8. Dip Truffles: Using two forks, dip each chilled truffle ball into the melted white almond bark, shaking off the excess coating before placing the truffle onto a white chocolate puddle.
  9. Repeat Dipping: Dip each remaining truffle balls and place them carefully onto the almond bark puddles to set.
  10. Let Set: Allow the white almond bark to fully harden on the truffles before decorating.
  11. Add Scarves: Wrap each snowman with a Twizzler peel as a scarf around its base.
  12. Create Carrot Noses: Cut the orange gum drops into small triangles to use as carrot noses and attach them to each snowman.
  13. Apply Eyes: Use black frosting to dot two eyes on each snowman’s face.
  14. Attach Hats: Use black frosting to secure half of a mini Oreo cookie onto each snowman’s head followed by placing a mini Reese’s Cup on top to form a festive hat.
  15. Serve: Arrange the decorated snowman truffles on a serving platter and enjoy your festive treat!

Notes

  • Chilling the truffles before dipping helps to avoid melting or breaking the balls when coated in almond bark.
  • Use parchment paper to easily lift the dipped truffles without damaging the coating.
  • Decorations can be customized based on available candies and personal creativity.
  • Store truffles in the refrigerator to maintain freshness and shape.
  • Ensure cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easier mixing with crumbs.
