A refreshing and nutrient-packed green juice featuring kale, spinach, cucumber, green apple, pineapple, lemon, and ginger. Perfect for a revitalizing drink that combines natural sweetness with a zesty touch and warming spice.
Ingredients
Greens
- 2 cups kale, chopped (Packed with nutrients and robust flavor)
- 1 cup spinach, packed (Adds mild sweetness)
- 1 handful mint leaves, optional (For a refreshing aroma)
Fruits and Vegetables
- 1 medium cucumber, peeled and chopped (Provides refreshing crunch)
- 1 medium green apple, cored and chopped (Adds natural sweetness)
- 1 cup pineapple, chopped (Fresh is preferred for juiciness)
- 1 whole lemon, juiced (Enhances flavor with acidity)
- 1 inch ginger, peeled (Adds warming spice)
Other
- 1-2 cups water, as needed (To adjust consistency)
Instructions
- Prepare the produce: Wash all fresh produce thoroughly under cold water. Remove tough stems from the kale and spinach, and chop them into manageable pieces. Peel the cucumber and ginger, core and chop the green apple, and cut the pineapple into chunks if using fresh.
- Load your juicing equipment: If using a juicer, alternate feeding the greens and fruits through the chute to extract juice. If using a blender, place all the chopped ingredients into the pitcher and add one cup of water to help blend.
- Blend to desired consistency: Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth, typically 30 to 60 seconds. Add more water gradually if the mixture is too thick to achieve your preferred consistency.
- Strain for smoothness: For a smoother juice, pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl or pitcher. Press down on the pulp with a spoon or spatula to extract as much juice as possible.
- Enhance the flavor: Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice and grated ginger. Taste and adjust flavors if desired by adding more apple or pineapple for extra sweetness.
- Serve and garnish: Pour the green juice into glasses filled with ice cubes. Garnish with fresh mint leaves or a lemon slice for a refreshing presentation. Serve immediately for the best taste and nutrient quality.
Notes
- Using fresh pineapple rather than canned will yield a more vibrant flavor.
- Adjust water quantity to achieve your preferred juice thickness.
- Straining the juice is optional but recommended for a smoother texture.
- Consume immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours for best freshness.
- Add ice cubes directly to glasses instead of blending ice for better texture.
- Adding mint leaves is optional, but they provide a refreshing aroma and taste.
