Description

Indulge in these Outrageous Nutella Brownies, a decadent treat that combines the silky richness of Nutella with dark chocolate and a fudge-like texture. Perfectly fudgy and irresistibly chocolaty, these brownies are easy to prepare and ideal for any chocolate lover’s cravings.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Base

  • 400g / 13 oz Nutella
  • 200g / 1 3/4 US sticks (14 tbsp) unsalted butter
  • 200g / 1 1/4 cups / 7 oz dark chocolate melts or semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup (175g) brown sugar, loosely packed

Wet Ingredients

  • 3 eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (75g) flour, plain/all-purpose, sifted if lumpy
  • 1/4 cup (30g) cocoa powder, sifted
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Melt Butter and Chocolate: In a heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water, gently melt the unsalted butter together with the dark chocolate melts until smooth and fully incorporated. Remove the bowl from heat and stir in the Nutella until well combined, creating a glossy chocolate mixture.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate large mixing bowl, whisk together the brown sugar and eggs until the mixture is creamy and slightly thickened. Then, add the vanilla extract and slowly mix in the chocolate-Nutella blend, stirring until you have a smooth batter.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients and Bake: Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt into the wet mixture. Fold gently until just combined, careful not to overmix to retain a tender crumb. Pour the batter evenly into a lined baking pan and bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (350°F) for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let cool before cutting into 16 squares and serving.

Notes

  • Ensure eggs are at room temperature to help achieve a smooth batter and better rise.
  • You can substitute semi-sweet chocolate chips for the dark chocolate melts depending on preferred sweetness.
  • Do not overbake to maintain fudgy texture; start checking at 30 minutes.
  • Use a toothpick to test doneness; it should come out with moist crumbs but not wet batter.
  • Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for longer keeping.
