Description

These No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars are a delicious and easy-to-make treat featuring a buttery peanut butter base topped with a rich layer of melted semi-sweet chocolate. Ready in just minutes without any baking, they require only simple ingredients and chilling time to set into perfectly firm, fudgy bars.

Ingredients

Scale

Peanut Butter Layer

  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup smooth peanut butter

Chocolate Topping

  • 1 cup semi-sweet melting chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8 or 9×9 inch pan with parchment paper, ensuring there is an overhang on the sides to help lift the bars out easily after setting.
  2. Make the Peanut Butter Layer: In a mixing bowl, stir together the melted butter, graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar, and smooth peanut butter until well combined. Spread this mixture evenly in the prepared pan, then place the pan in the freezer for 5 minutes to firm up.
  3. Melt the Chocolate: While the peanut butter layer chills, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips together with 1 tablespoon of butter until smooth. This can be done using a microwave in short bursts or over a double boiler, stirring frequently to prevent burning. Pour the melted chocolate evenly over the chilled peanut butter layer.
  4. Chill the Bars: Transfer the pan to the refrigerator and chill for about 4 hours or until the bars are completely firm. Before slicing, leave the bars out at room temperature for about 10 minutes to soften slightly for easier cutting.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper with an overhang to remove bars cleanly.
  • For a firmer set, you can chill the bars overnight.
  • Substitute smooth peanut butter with natural or crunchy according to preference.
  • For a dairy-free option, use vegan butter and dairy-free chocolate chips.
  • Store bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
