Description

This Jalapeno Popper Sandwich is a spicy twist on a classic grilled cheese, featuring a creamy cheesy filling with a kick of jalapeños. Perfect for a satisfying lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheese Filling:

  • 4 slices thick-cut bread (sourdough or white)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2–3 jalapeños, thinly sliced and deseeded
  • 4 slices cooked bacon (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix Cheese Filling: In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar, mozzarella, salt, and pepper.
  2. Assemble Sandwiches: Spread the cheese mixture on two bread slices. Top with jalapeños and bacon. Cover with remaining bread slices.
  3. Grill Sandwiches: Spread mayo on one side and butter on the other. Cook sandwiches in a skillet until golden and cheese is melted.
  4. Serve: Slice and enjoy hot.

Notes

  • Adjust jalapeños to suit your spice preference.
  • Try pickled jalapeños for a tangy twist.
  • Add crushed tortilla chips for extra crunch.
