These Gingerbread Jello Shots are a festive and fun holiday treat combining warm spices with creamy and boozy flavors. Featuring ground ginger, cinnamon, molasses, and a blend of Baileys Irish Cream, butterscotch schnapps, and vodka, these jello shots capture the essence of gingerbread in a playful form. Perfect for holiday parties, they offer a unique twist on traditional jello shots with a rich gingerbread simple syrup and a smooth, spiced finish.

Ingredients

Scale

Liquid Ingredients

  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Baileys Irish Cream
  • 1/4 cup Butterscotch Schnapps
  • 1/2 cup Vodka
  • 1/4 cup Gingerbread Simple Syrup
  • 1/2 cup Cold Water
  • 2 cups Boiling Water

Dry Ingredients & Flavorings

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Molasses
  • 1 tsp Ground Ginger
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 4 envelopes Knox Gelatin

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Gingerbread Simple Syrup: In a saucepan, combine 1 cup water, sugar, molasses, ground ginger, and ground cinnamon. Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the sugar dissolves completely and the mixture thickens slightly to form a syrup. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  2. Bloom the Gelatin: In a large bowl, combine the 4 envelopes of Knox gelatin with 1/2 cup cold water. Let it sit for 5 minutes, allowing the gelatin to soften and absorb the water.
  3. Dissolve the Gelatin: Pour 2 cups boiling water over the bloomed gelatin mixture. Stir continuously until the gelatin is completely dissolved and the liquid is clear.
  4. Mix the Alcohol and Syrup: To the gelatin mixture, add Baileys Irish Cream, Butterscotch Schnapps, vodka, and 1/4 cup of the cooled gingerbread simple syrup. Stir gently to combine all the flavors evenly.
  5. Pour into Molds: Carefully pour the mixture into 2 oz shot glasses or jello shot molds. Make sure to fill each mold evenly for consistent portions.
  6. Chill and Set: Refrigerate the shots for at least 4 hours or until fully set and firm. Once set, they are ready to serve and enjoy.

Notes

  • Ensure the gingerbread simple syrup is completely cooled before mixing it with alcohol and gelatin to avoid curdling.
  • Adjust the amount of vodka depending on your preference for alcohol strength.
  • These jello shots are best served chilled and consumed within 1-2 days for optimal texture.
  • Use caution when serving to underage or unintended guests as these contain alcohol.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute the Baileys, schnapps, and vodka with flavored syrups or juices.
