Description
This easy broiled lobster tails recipe delivers tender, juicy lobster meat infused with garlic butter and a hint of lemon. Perfect for a special occasion or holiday dinner, it comes together quickly under the broiler for a beautifully browned finish.
Ingredients
Ingredients
- 4 lobster tails (4 to 6 ounces each)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 2 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
- Chopped parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat Broiler: Set your oven’s broiler to high and position the oven rack about 5 to 6 inches from the heat source to ensure the lobster cooks evenly and develops a nice char.
- Prepare Lobster Tails: Using kitchen shears, carefully cut down the top of each lobster shell lengthwise, stopping just before the tail fin. Gently loosen the lobster meat from the shell, lifting it slightly to rest on top while keeping it attached at the base to hold its shape.
- Make Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, paprika, salt, and black pepper to create a flavorful basting sauce.
- Brush Lobster: Generously brush the garlic butter mixture over the lobster meat, ensuring every piece is coated for maximum flavor.
- Broil Lobster Tails: Place the prepared lobster tails on a foil-lined baking sheet. Broil for 8 to 10 minutes, basting with extra butter halfway through, until the meat is opaque and lightly browned on top.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and serve immediately with additional melted butter, lemon wedges, and a sprinkle of chopped parsley.
Notes
- Lobster is perfectly cooked when the internal temperature reaches 140–145°F.
- For extra heat and flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or crushed red pepper to the butter mixture.
- Use kitchen shears carefully to avoid damaging the lobster meat when cutting the shell.
- Serve with crusty bread or a light salad to complement the rich flavors.
