Ingredients
Steak and Seasoning
- 2 ribeye steaks or flank steak, sliced thinly
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Pasta and Sauce
- 12 oz pasta (penne or fettuccine)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta: Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside to keep warm.
- Heat butter and oil: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter and add olive oil to prepare for searing the steak.
- Season the steak: Add the thinly sliced steak to the skillet and season evenly with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Sear the steak: Cook the steak pieces for 4–5 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the cooked steak from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté garlic: Using the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, taking care not to burn it.
- Make the sauce: Pour in the heavy cream and beef broth, stirring to combine everything. Simmer the mixture for 2–3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Add pasta to sauce: Return the cooked pasta to the skillet and stir well to coat the pasta evenly with the creamy sauce.
- Combine steak and pasta: Add the cooked steak back into the skillet and toss all the ingredients together until everything is well coated in the creamy Cajun sauce.
- Melt Parmesan: Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the skillet contents and cook for another 2–3 minutes until the cheese melts into a smooth, luscious sauce.
- Serve and garnish: Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve the creamy Cajun steak pasta warm for the best flavor experience.
Notes
- Use ribeye or flank steak for best flavor and tenderness, but sirloin or skirt steak can also work well.
- For a spicier dish, add extra Cajun seasoning or a dash of cayenne pepper.
- Be careful not to overcook the steak slices to keep them tender and juicy.
- You can substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter sauce, but it will be less creamy.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; reheat gently to avoid drying out the sauce.
