Description

These Cheesy Parmesan Mozzarella Bites are a perfect appetizer or snack that combines gooey mozzarella with a crispy coating, served with a flavorful marinara dipping sauce.

Mozzarella Bites:

  • 8 mozzarella string cheese sticks (cut into thirds)

Breading:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Marinara sauce for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the Mozzarella: Cut the mozzarella sticks into thirds.
  2. Prepare Breading Stations: Set up three bowls – one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs, Parmesan, and seasonings.
  3. Coat the Mozzarella: Dredge each mozzarella piece in flour, dip into the egg, then coat in the breadcrumb mixture. For extra crispiness, repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating.
  4. Freeze: Place coated bites on a tray and freeze for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Fry: Heat oil to 350°F, fry the bites in batches for 1–2 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve: Serve warm with marinara sauce.

Notes

  • These can be made ahead and frozen.
  • Bake at 400°F for 8–10 minutes as an alternative to frying.
