Description

This easy and comforting baked ravioli recipe layers fresh or frozen ravioli with marinara sauce and parmesan cheese, then bakes it until bubbly and golden. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner that feels like a warm Italian classic.

Ingredients

Scale

Ravioli

  • 1 10-ounce package ravioli (fresh or frozen, approximately 25 raviolis)

Sauce & Cheese

  • 25 ounces marinara sauce
  • 1 1/4 cups parmesan cheese, grated

Garnish

  • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Dish: Preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Layer Ingredients: Spread half of the marinara sauce evenly at the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Arrange half of the ravioli in a single layer over the sauce. Sprinkle half of the grated parmesan cheese evenly over the ravioli. Then, pour the remaining marinara sauce over the cheese layer. Finally, arrange the remaining ravioli on top and sprinkle with the rest of the parmesan cheese.
  3. Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes to heat through and meld the flavors.
  4. Bake Uncovered: Carefully remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes. This will allow the cheese to brown slightly and the sauce to thicken.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove the dish from the oven and sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top as a fresh herbal garnish. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Use either fresh or frozen ravioli depending on availability; cooking times remain the same.
  • For a different flavor, try substituting mozzarella cheese or adding Italian seasoning.
  • Let the baked ravioli rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow it to set.
  • You can prepare it ahead up to step 3, then refrigerate and bake when ready.
  • To make it vegetarian, ensure your ravioli and marinara sauce do not contain meat.
