Description

Deliciously tangy and flavorful baked lemon garlic chicken wings that are crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Perfect as an appetizer or main dish to impress your guests with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Wings

  • 1 kg (about 2.2 lbs) chicken wings

Marinade

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Wings: Rinse the chicken wings thoroughly under cold water and pat them completely dry with paper towels to ensure the marinade sticks well.
  2. Marinate: In a large bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and black pepper. Toss the wings in this marinade until evenly coated. Cover and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  3. Preheat Oven: Heat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil, then place a wire rack on top to allow air circulation and crisping of the wings.
  4. Arrange Wings: Lay the marinated wings in a single layer on the wire rack, ensuring they do not overlap for even cooking.
  5. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes. Flip the wings halfway through the cooking time to promote even browning and crispness. Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F) to ensure doneness.
  6. Rest and Serve: Allow the wings to rest for a few minutes after removing from the oven. Transfer them to a serving platter and garnish generously with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Marinating for longer than 30 minutes (up to 2 hours) will intensify the lemon garlic flavor.
  • Use a wire rack to keep wings crispy by allowing fat to drip away during baking.
  • Check internal temperature with a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken is safely cooked.
  • For extra crispness, broil the wings for 2-3 minutes at the end of baking, watching closely to prevent burning.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven for best texture.
