Description

This Baked Chicken Cordon Bleu Dip is a creamy, savory appetizer perfect for gatherings. It combines cream cheese, ham, Swiss cheese, and tender chicken in a luscious dip topped with buttery cracker crumbs and baked to golden perfection. Serve warm with chips or crackers for a crowd-pleasing treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Dip Base

  • 16 oz. cream cheese (room temperature)
  • ¼ cup dry white wine
  • ¼ cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • ⅛ tsp red pepper flakes
  • 6 oz. ham (diced or thinly sliced and cut into ½” squares)
  • 6 oz. Swiss or Gruyere cheese (diced or thinly sliced and cut into ½” squares)
  • 3 cups chicken meat from a rotisserie chicken (cubed)

Topping

  • 1 sleeve (30 crackers) Ritz Crackers, crushed
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)

For Serving

  • Chips or crackers for dipping
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter a 1½ quart baking dish to prevent sticking and ensure easy serving.
  2. Mix the Dip Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, dry white wine, low-sodium chicken broth, ground black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Gently fold in the diced ham, Swiss or Gruyere cheese, and cubed rotisserie chicken until everything is evenly distributed.
  3. Prepare Cracker Topping: In a small bowl, mix the crushed Ritz crackers with the melted unsalted butter until well combined. This will create a crunchy, buttery topping for your dip.
  4. Assemble and Bake: Spread the creamy chicken, ham, and cheese mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Then, sprinkle the buttered cracker crumbs evenly over the top. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly and the cracker topping turns golden brown.
  5. Serve and Garnish: Remove the dip from the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a pop of color and fresh flavor. Serve warm with your favorite chips or crackers for dipping. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For an extra kick, adjust the red pepper flakes to your preferred heat level.
  • Using rotisserie chicken saves time but you can also cook and shred your own chicken breast.
  • The cracker topping adds crunch and a rich buttery flavor—don’t skip it!
  • This dip can be made ahead of time and refrigerated; bake just before serving.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
