Description

Antipasto Squares feature layers of deli meats, cheeses, and banana peppers sandwiched between buttery crescent roll dough for a savory, crowd-pleasing appetizer or snack that’s easy to prepare and perfect for parties.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 2 Tubes of Crescent Rolls
  • 2 Tablespoons Melted Butter

Meats

  • ½ Pound Deli Ham
  • ¼ Pound Sliced Pepperoni
  • ¼ Pound Genoa Salami

Cheeses

  • ¼ Pound Sliced Provolone
  • ¼ Pound Sliced Mozzarella
  • ¼ Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese

Other Ingredients

  • ½ Cup Banana Peppers (sliced)
  • 1 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to ensure the squares don’t stick.
  2. Prepare Base Layer: Unroll one tube of crescent roll dough and press it evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, pinching seams to seal and create a solid base.
  3. Add Fillings: Layer the deli ham, sliced pepperoni, Genoa salami, provolone, mozzarella, and banana peppers evenly over the crescent roll dough to build the flavorful filling.
  4. Cover with Dough: Unroll the second tube of crescent roll dough and spread it carefully over the top filling layer, gently pressing to cover completely and pinching seams to seal the edges.
  5. Top and Season: Brush the top layer with melted butter for richness, then sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning evenly over the dough for added flavor and a golden crust.
  6. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and the filling is heated through.
  7. Cool and Cut: Remove from oven and allow to cool a few minutes so the filling sets, then cut into 12 squares for serving.
  8. Serve: Serve the Antipasto Squares warm alongside marinara sauce or pesto for dipping to complement the savory flavors.

Notes

  • You can swap the deli meats or cheeses to suit your preferences or dietary needs.
  • Banana peppers add a mild tangy heat but can be omitted or replaced with roasted red peppers for a different flavor.
  • For easier slicing, allow the squares to cool completely before cutting.
  • These squares can be made ahead and reheated in the oven for about 10 minutes before serving.
