Description

These Air Fryer Carrots are a quick and delicious side dish, perfectly tender with a hint of thyme and a touch of honey butter glaze. Ready in just 20 minutes, they make a healthy and flavorful addition to any meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Carrots

  • 1 pound carrots (about 5-6 medium carrots)

Seasonings

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)

Finishing

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ½ tablespoon runny honey

Instructions

  1. Prep: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (195°C) for 5 minutes. While it heats, trim, peel, and cut the carrots into spears. To do this, cut the carrots in half lengthwise and then slice each half into 4 spears for even cooking.
  2. Season carrots: Place the carrot spears in a large mixing bowl and toss with olive oil, dried thyme, salt, and pepper, ensuring each piece is evenly coated.
  3. Add to air fryer: Transfer the seasoned carrots into the hot air fryer basket, arranging them in a single, even layer to ensure proper cooking and crisping.
  4. Cook: Air fry the carrots at 375°F (195°C) for 12 to 15 minutes. Shake or check them occasionally to promote even cooking until they become tender.
  5. Finish: Once cooked, immediately transfer the carrots to a serving bowl. Gently toss them with butter and runny honey to coat evenly. Serve hot for the best flavor.

Notes

  • For the best texture, cut carrots uniformly to ensure even cooking.
  • You can substitute dried thyme with rosemary or oregano if preferred.
  • Adjust the honey quantity to your taste for more or less sweetness.
  • Serve as a side dish to grilled meats or as part of a vegetarian meal.
